Obituary for Edwin Allan Coy Sr.
Edwin Allen Coy Sr, of Bellevue, MI passed away peacefully on July 17, 2018.
Ed was born April 28, 1943 in Hastings, MI; the son of Basil and Juanita (Brown) Coy. He pursued various career opportunities after high school before landing a permanent position at Kendall Industrial where he worked for almost 25 years. During his time at Kendall Industrial, Ed and his father purchased a dairy farm in Dowling, where he spent the remainder of his working years. In addition, he was a volunteer for several years with the Johnstown Fire Department.
Ed is survived by son Eddie Coy of Bellevue, daughter Hannah Coy of Bellevue, brother Gary (Wanda) Coy of Hastings and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Charles and Clarence both of Hastings and his parents.
During his youth and throughout adulthood, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was most at home on his farm where he spent many hours tinkering with farm equipment. Although quiet and reserved, Ed never turned down on opportunity to help friends who were in need.
Ed's family will greet friends on Thursday, July 19th from 5:00-8:00 pm at Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service, 375 W Dickman Road, Battle Creek, MI.
Graveside service will be held Friday, July 20th at 5:00 pm at Banfield Cemetery, W Osborne Rd, Delton, MI.
Immediately following the service, there will be a dinner at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 19757 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Baxter Funeral Home.
