Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Broughman
Elizabeth Broughman, age 82, passed away at home on Oct. 8, 2019, after a weekend of being surrounded by friends and family. Elizabeth was born in Battle Creek to Freeman Rapson and Thelma (Ripley) Rapson on Sep. 22, 1937. She attended Battle Creek Central and Wright Beauty Academy. Elizabeth retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy/Muirs where she had worked for 25 years.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Ward A. Broughman, her brother, Donald (Joyce) Rapson and sister, Mary Bartlet. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Broughman, her sister, Thelma Wood, and granddaughters, Kiyah and Lily Chambers and several nieces, nephews and cousins that she may have also considered her children.
Elizabeth enjoyed gambling, traveling and cooking for others. She was skilled in attending to all the details of holidays and special occasions. She loved watching westerns and listening to BB King and Michael Bolton. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be held Oct. 9, 2019, at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service from 4-7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Oct. 10, 2019, at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside interment at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
