Elsie Wilson, 101, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Laurels of Bedford. She was born on May 14, 1921, the daughter of Fred Riggle and Anna (Berndt) Riggle.
Elsie attended Saranac Public Schools and moved to Battle Creek from Saranac, MI in 1954. She married Jack S. Wilson in Battle Creek on March 14, 1954. She was employed at the Battle Creek Sanitarium Hospital in food service for 16 years until retiring in 1978, but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She formerly attended Maple United Methodist Church and then the Battle Creek Seventh-Day Adventist Tabernacle.
Elsie is survived by her Special Friend, Jackie Rose and her friends at Bedford Manor. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband of 40 years, Jack S. Wilson, Brother, Robert C. Wilson, Sister, Martha V. Pease and Special Friend, Margaret Spaman.
Elsie enjoyed baking, reading, crocheting, bird watching, flower gardening and traveling with her husband.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 West Dickman Road, on Wednesday October 26, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 12:00 pm.
Interment will take place in the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
