Elvia Lydia Hernandez, 78, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2021. She was born on December 30, 1942, the daughter of Fortunaro and Elida (Martinez) Rodriguez.

Elvia married Mario Hernandez on April 1, 1962, he survives. Elvia was strong in her faith, and knew and loved the Lord all throughout her life.

Elvia is survived by her Husband, Mario G. Hernandez; Five Children, Elvia (Joe) Salas, Myrna (Rocky) Baxter, Gricelda (Kenneth Conklin) Mason, Mario (Dona) Hernandez, Nora (William) Rethard; 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents.

Elvia enjoyed shopping, playing bingo and going to the casino. She was very talented cook, and enjoyed making meals for her family. Elvia had a personality everyone loved, and she always made sure that everyone was taken care of before herself. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and taught them everything they needed in life and more. She would give everything she had to anyone in need and for that they will forever love and miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, with the funeral service to celebrate the life of Elvia immediately following at 2:00 pm.

Interment will take place at the Hicks Cemetery in Pennfield Township.

Memorials may be made to the Mary Coleman Breast Health Center at Bronson, 300 North Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49017.
