Obituary for Esther Elaine Smith
Esther Elaine Smith, 88, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Reflections Memory Care. She was born on August 26, 1930, the daughter of Samuel A. Harris and Helen D. (Jenkins) Harris.
She graduated from Schoolcraft High School in 1947. Esther graduated from Kellogg Community College with a degree in Nursing and worked many years as a Registered Nurse. She also worked at a Broker of RealEstate.
She is survived by her Two Sons, Brian J. (Stephanie) Smith, Roger K. (Maureen) Smith; Two Daughters, Sherry L. Dailey, Tammy A. Smith-Lawrence; 13 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great-Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband, Kenneth P. Smith and Two Brothers, Arthur and Jerry Harris.
Esther loved tending to her flower garden and keeping her flowers well-kept. She enjoyed playing Bridge, snow skiing, spending time at her home at Beadle Lake, traveling to Europe, Greece and the Bahamas, oil painting and her friends. Esther always tried to encourage people to eat healthy and to live healthy lifestyles, she was still enrolled in exercise class at The Kool Family Community Center. Her main joy in life was her parents, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed by those that knew her and loved her.
