Obituary for Faye Fields
On Friday, May 1, 2020, our mom, Faye Fields, went to be reunited with our dad, Joe, in the loving arms of Jesus. Faye was born to Bill and Dorothy Turner, January 11, 1927, in Blackey, Kentucky. Faye held diverse careers, such as: Telephone Operator, Airplane Assembly Technician for Oliver Aviation, and retired as a Quality Assurance Supervisor from Interbake Foods (where a perk of that job was to taste-test Girl Scout Cookies:)
Faye met her husband, Joe, during a bus ride when the handsome soldier insisted on sitting next to the pretty blonde. They married in February 1946, a marriage that lasted 70 years, until Joe passed that same month in 2017. Faye leaves behind a legacy of love for family. She also leaves behind a family that loves her back: Elaine (Joe) Garrison, Gary (Lesley), Ron (Lois), Deborah DeVore, Jeff, Joe (Jenny), 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include: Betty, Dale, Hillard and Kinnon. Faye is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, and siblings Kay and Sonny.
Faye was well known as a good cook! She seemed to have the magical talent of making something out of nothing. When word got out that Faye was fixing dinner, unexpected guests would show up for her legendary fried chicken and green beans. Faye was a worker bee, always had to have the house in shape, and, with six kids, no easy feat! Her decorating skill was top notch, including her childlike appreciation for all of the holidays! She lit up every room she entered with her impeccable taste in clothing and as Dad often said, her beauty.

Faye will be entered into rest beside her husband Joe at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of life memorial will be scheduled for her at a later date.
