Obituary for Florenda K. Uselton

Florenda “Kay” Uselton, 65, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021. She was born April 5, 1955 in Battle Creek, Michigan to William Kyle Bottom and Lillian Ethel (Burns) Bottom.

She attended Battle Creek Public Schools and had numerous jobs throughout her life. She served in the US Army. Florenda had a variety of hobbies which included, gardening, photography, garage sales, she loved playing the organ, and singing with “The Sweet Adelines”. She was known for her singing, when she sang, she sounded just like Patsy Cline.

Florenda is survived by daughters, Lisa (Brian) Barnes, Kimberly Olcheske; sons, Mark (Tanira) Freeman, Kyle (Zelda) Uselton; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie (John) Kilgore, Barbara (Jerry) Wofford, Blanche (Jack) Winters, Tami (Tim) Collige, Tonya Fields and brother, William “Keith” (Ruby) Bottoms. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; parents; sisters, Lanetta “Kathy” Cochran, Joyce Ann Bottom; infant brother, Billy Clarence, and an infant son, Kenneth L. Uselton.

In accordance with Florenda's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
