Obituary for Floyd Thomas Taylor Sr.

Floyd "Porky" Thomas Taylor Sr., 76, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Ascension Borgess Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1945, the son of Floyd Menda and Barbara Jean (Warner) Taylor.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Diana Jo (DeLing) Taylor; children, Floyd "Skip" Taylor Jr., Troy (Kyla) Taylor, Craig (Stacey) Taylor, Tiffany (Dave) Walbeck; sisters, Beverly Taylor, Gloria (Steve) Hartman; longtime friend, Russ Burt Sr.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Bonnie Clear, Patty King, Rachel Farleigh, brothers, James "Jim" Taylor, Larry Taylor and Norman Taylor.

Floyd did a lot of clowning for the Red Cross and was the first Santa at the mall. His original clown name was "La De Da". He loved making others laugh and smile. He spent many years camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his grand-pups.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 1:30 pm at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
