Obituary for Frances Virginia Burress

Frances V. Burress, 67, suddenly departed this life on May 4th at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. Frances was born in Wheeling, WV. She eventually moved to Columbus, Ohio, beginning her federal career. Later, she moved to Battle Creek, MI where she continued her employment for the Federal Government for a combined 34 years at DSCC and the Hart-Dole Federal Center through retirement while raising her sons and family.
Frances was strong spirited and very intellectual, who always looked at the bright and funny side of things. She was able to make you smile from a look or a laugh. She encouraged you to see all aspects of life and challenged you to be the best you could be.
Frances enjoyed gardening and doing crafts and was very passionate about reading and writing, which resulted in the publications of two books. She enjoyed traveling and loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosella and Seedie, Siblings, Marie A., Helen E., Mildred R., George A., and John S.
She leaves to cherish her memory, Sons, Galen R., Talen L (Rita M.), and niece/daughter, Aundria M., Siblings, Debra A., Mildred T., James L., Garry A., Nathaniel, Eugene C. and William H.
Service of celebration will be held Friday, May 8, 2020 at 3:00 pm. We will be have a DRIVE BY parade in her honor and memory starting on Avenue A. and continuing to Westlake Woods Drive. Family will be in the yard to thank you for your time, thoughts and prayers.
