My Friend

A lot of the people who will read this know who I am and most of them will know the special relationship Frank and I had.

There was a time long ago when if you found one of us you would also find the other.

We enlisted together into the Army and took Basic Training together at Fort Know Ky. We both served in Germany but in different units. We did not spend a lot of time together while in Germany.

Frank was sent to Viet Nam and as you all know, he was wounded there and sent home. His war did not stop when he came home. He spent a lot of time in the VA Hospital.

Over the years we have stayed in touch and I would visit him each time I returned to Battle Creek.

Frank was a special person. He loved his family and his friends and would do anything for any of them.

It is very difficult to find words to discribe the man, the Dad and my Friend.

The last time we met, about a year or so ago, I sensed a difference in the way he treated me. He was a strong man and found it difficult to show great emotion but on that occasion we spoke of long friendships and some of the things we did as 7 and 8 year old kids; different in the most loving way.

We spoke of death on occasion and who would go first. I told him to take care because I would only come to see him when we could talk to each other.

I'm with you my Friend, today, tomorrow and forever.

I will miss you my Friend.

RIP Frank
