Family and friends of Garry Russell Cowles, 79, celebrated his homegoing as God lifted him to Heaven out of his pain and struggles on October 2, 2023. Garry was one of five children born to Russell and Wanda Cowles on March 9, 1944 in Jackson, Michigan.

Garry farmed with his Dad, welded at Tractor Mate and retired from Kellogg Company in Battle Creek after 35 years as a Class A Welder. He married the love of his life, Lee Etta (Richardson) Cowles in 1963. They have two amazing children, Lance (Michelle) Cowles and Dawn Smith; four grandchildren, Karisa (Trey) Finney, Lance Quintin Cowles, Virginia and William Smith, and one great grandchild, Levi Finney.

Garry enjoyed fishing, hunting and finding super deals at sales of all kinds. But, his most enjoyable time was visiting with his family who he adored so very much. Garry was known for always going the extra mile helping anyone that needed help without expecting or wanting anything in return. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother. Garry’s absence from his family has left a void that can never be filled. We don’t say “good bye” but, “until we meet again.”

At this time, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
