When I was building my house, spending many a late hours after work, Gene would occasionally stop by and bring me a sandwich. I also remember him leading me through his woods marking maple trees he said I could dig up and transplant in my yard. That was 30 years ago and those trees are becoming large stately shade trees now. I think of Gene whenever I am near them. Those are precious memories. Andrew and David were and still are best of friends. Gene had that tough and gentle quality about him. I'm so sorry for your temporary loss of Gene. Love from the Lavenders
