Obituary for Gerald Joseph Evans
Gerald Evans, 70, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Oaklawn Hospital. He was born on April 15, 1951, the son of Joseph Cecil Evans and Madeline (Eifler) Evans.
Gerry graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. He owned and operated Dickman Auto Parts. Gerry married the love of his life, Lynne on October 20, 1979.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynne Evans; nephew, Ed (Melissa) Greene; nieces, Jennifer and Ashley; mother-in-law, Colleen Freeman; sister-in-law, Julie Freeman; brother-in-law, Mike Freeman; great nephew, Kaleb (Jodi) Greene; great niece, Victoria (Jared) Greene; great great niece, Cecilia Greene. He was preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Cecil Evans, Mother, Madeline Evans, Sister, Janice Greene, brother-in-law, Tim Freeman.
Gerry enjoyed cars, drag racing, playing poker and performing magic. Gerry was very family oriented and loved to gather with his family and make memories. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service on Saturday, January 8, 2022 starting at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steve Shafe officiating.
