Obituary for Harry Mathias Purucker

Harry Mathias Purucker, 93, of Battle Creek, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at home. He was born on May 4, 1927, the son of Fred Paul and Wilma C. (Molnair) Purucker.

Harry was formerly a member of the St. Philip Catholic Church in Battle Creek, MI. He was an United States Army Veteran who honorably and proudly served his country. Harry worked at Corning Glass in Albion, MI and Eaton Corporation in Marshall, MI. Harry married Aurelia L. Wallace on March 7, 1959, in Albion, MI. They were married for 57 years until she preceded him in death in 2016.

Harry is survived by his Daughter, Sheri (Greg) Rees; Two Sons, Neil (Eloise) Fogg, Duane (Barbara) Fogg; 20 Grandchildren, 47 Great Grandchildren and 25 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Sons, Harry M. Purucker II, Larry Fogg; Daughters, Teresa Paugh, BarbaraJean Turner; Brothers, Walter, Albert, Richard, Frank, Fred, Leo and Robert; Sisters, MaryLou, Margaret, Charlotte, Betty, Irene, Mercedes, Rita, Vera and his Wife of 57 Years, Aurelia L. Purucker.

In his younger years, Harry coached men's softball. He enjoyed gardening, tending to the flowers, woodworking and playing BINGO. Harry was an avid Wheel Of Fortune fan, loved his McDonalds coffee and also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers. Harry was a family man that loved spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren, Zachary, Trevor and Lyndsey truly were the light of his life.

Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, on Wednesday April 28, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm with the funeral service immediately following at 12:30 pm with Pastor Doug Fleury officiating.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Albion, MI.
