Henry R. Duis, Jr. went to be with his Lord Thursday, December 28, 2011 surrounded by his family at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. He was born February 22, 1941 to Henry R. Duis Sr. and Myrtle (Timm) Duis. He was a graduate of Niles High School and Western Michigan University. Henry was employed with Fuller Transmissions in Kalamazoo and as well as Eaton Corporation in Marshall where he retired in 2001.

He loved being at his home on Beadle Lake as well as his summer home in Edwardsburg, MI. Henry was an avid sports fan, enjoying boating, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He also loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charilyn Chambers-Duis; daughters, Kelly (Chris) Grayson, Debbie (Brett) Whitlock, Shawna Chambers; grandchildren, McKenna Grayson, Trenten White;
Sisters, Paulyne Mumaw, Marjorie Rhude; and brothers, Reverend Jack Duis, Donald (Geri) Duis. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Raymond Duis.

Family will receive friends on Monday January 2, 2012 from 11:00AM-2:00PM with funeral services following at 2:00PM at the Baxter Funeral Service with Pastor James Codde officiating. Interment will be held at Ceresco Cemetery in Emmett Township. Memorial contributions may be directed to LifeSpan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence and Autism Speaks.
