Obituary for Howard Lee Wilcox

Howard Lee Wilcox, 91, of Dowling, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at The Oaks at Northpointe Woods. He was born on February 22, 1924 in Richmond, IN, the son of Howard Lee Wilcox and Mable Irene (Jacobs) Wilcox.
Howard attended several schools in the Battle Creek area and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1942. After graduation he went to work in Sheet metal for Kellogg Co. until his retirement in 1986, after 43 years of service. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in November 1942 and was discharged in 1950 with the rank of 2nd class Storekeeper. He worked for Mr.Hale of Battle Creek Central in the apprentice program as an instructor for sheet metal apprentices. He also helped set up the apprentice program for KCC.
Howard is survived by his Wife of 68 years - Mamie "Midge" (Ankney) Wilcox of Dowling, Michigan; Daughters, Pamela Wilcox and Donna (Kenneth) (Wilcox) Lambeth; Grandchildren, Kenneth (Melinda) Lambeth and Jamie (Lambeth) Baird; Great-Grandchildren, Kelsee, MacKenzie, Kenneth Cash, Myah, Alexander, and Kamden; Sister, Lenora Kellogg. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Siblings, Maryanne Johnson, Roberta "Bobbie" Callaway, and Kendall Wilcox.
Howard enjoyed painting, working in the garden, and working with his hands. He liked to go camping and fishing in his younger days. He was a good man who loved his family.
A private graveside service will be held.
