Obituary for James Douglas Bunch

James Douglas Bunch, 67, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on July 28, 1955, the son of Carter Bunch and Mabel (Blank) Lake.

Jim is survived by his father and step-mother, Carter and Barbara Bunch; daughters, Jamie (Derek) Henson, Jennifer (Rob) Hayes; son, John (Shayna) Johnloz; daughter-in-law, Kandi (Jason) Moore; sister, Trina (Phil) Bunch-Parrish; brother, Rick (Pat) Bunch; step-brothers, Terry (Annette) Lake, Gary Lake; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Lake; son, Jason Moore; and lifelong friend, Diane Bunch.

Jim worked as a cereal production worker for Ralston Foods in the 1980’s through the early 2000’s. He met many friends during his days of owning The Gun Rack. He was an avid collector of guns and military memorabilia. Big Jim loved riding his motorcycle all over the country. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking from scratch, and was a collector of many things. Anyone who knew Jim, knew he had a special place in his heart for “Polish girls”.

At this time cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life/Memorial for Jim will be announced at a later date.
