Obituary for James O. Keeler

James Orlando Keeler, 87, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully in his home while surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was born October 1, 1934, in Battle Creek, the son of Sidney James and Anna Nancy (Ware) Keeler. James lived a long, hard-working life at AC Foundry, Modern Transit Ready Mix, and various local concrete flatwork companies. After his retirement he enjoyed his family, playing cards, puzzling, his yard, and going to estate sales.

He is survived by his dearly beloved spouse Beverly Taylor; best friend Linda Keeler; sister Madelyn Harper; daughters Callie (& Jason), Carla (& Rod), and Debbie; sons Scott (& Lucinda) and Rodney (& Cindy); grandkids Jordan, Christina, Timothy (& Mercedes), Eric (& Chelsea Lynn), Sarah (& Garrett), Jacob (& Chelsea Jordan), Shelby, and Chelsea Megan; great grandkids Jessica, Ashley, Lenin, Iris, Owen, Jase, Alec, Jude, Scarlett, and Mackenzie; and great-great grandchild Lia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richard, Raymond, and Lester Keeler; sisters Betty Correnti, Ruth Roose, and Marion Howard; and daughter Nancy Keeler.

A memorial service will be held at Maple United Methodist Church on Monday, October 18, 2:30 pm.
