Jamie Javon Poindexter, 22, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, went
home with the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2019. He was born
October 4, 1996, in Lansing, MI to Jamie E. Poindexter and
Nakisha Morgan and raised by mother (grandmother)
Juanita Green.

Jamie attended school in Lansing, Battle Creek and
Kalamazoo, MI. He married Cassandra Penny in 2015 and
they have a beautiful baby girl together. Jamie worked as
a bus driver, in factories and construction.

Jamie was preceded in death by Charles Allen, Louis
Green and grandmother Parthenia Poindexter. He leaves
to cherish his memories, Juanita Green, who raised him;
Jamie Poindexter Sr., Nakisha Morgan; wife, Cassandra
Penny Poindexter; daughter Myella Poindexter of
Kalamazoo, MI; brothers Giovanni and Jace of Battle
Creek, MI, Gary Allen of Lansing, MI, Charles Allen Jr. of
Dallas, TX; sisters Armani of Kalamazoo, MI, Amiah, Jayla
and Jasmine, all of Battle Creek, MI, Brittinie and
Gabrielle of Lansing, MI and Jessica Poindexter of Detroit,
MI; Godsister Katina Mayes; Godbrother Karl Amerson
both of Battle Creek, MI; special friends Deondre and
Darlene and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jamie enjoyed cooking out, bonfires and being with family
and friends. Like most young men, he paid a lot of
attention to his vehicles and loved to drive and listen to
music. He was very outgoing and loved to joke and help
others. He lived a full life in a short period of time.

The funeral will be held at 1:00, on Saturday, July 20, 2019,
at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service,
375 W. Dickman Rd. Battle, Creek, MI.
The family will be receiving friends an hour before the service.
