Obituary for Janice Ann Borden (Carrel)
Janice Ann Borden, 63, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born on September 23, 1956, the daughter of Herbert L. Mann and Madeline L. (Wood) Carrel.
Jan attended Bellevue Schools and graduated from high school in Tahran, Iran in 1974. After high school she attended Secretarial College in London, England. She was employed at Crumton Automotive in the inventory control department and at LifeSpan in Human Resources until retiring in 2011.
Jan is survived by her Husband of 22 years, Gary Borden; Daughter, Kristin Fronsman; Son, Kellon (Samantha) Borden; Two Grandsons, Kevin Fronsman, Conner Borden; Three Brothers, Justin (Alice) Carrel, Terry (Wendy) Mann, JR (Bonnie) Carrel and several nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father, Herbert (Jacklyn) Mann, Mother, Madeline (Kenneth) Carrel, Sister, Kathy (Richard) Ward and Great Niece, Allison Daugherty.
Jan enjoyed shopping, taking trips to Shipshewana, traveling to Northern Michigan and Alaska, reading and Rock and Roll music. She was previously the Past president of the Pennfield Optimist Club.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, with the memorial service starting at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center, 200 N Park Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
