Obituary for Jeanette Bowser (Henderson)
Jeanette Bowser, 80, went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2021 at home with her family. Jeanette was born on May 29, 1941 to Mr. and Mrs. Ozzie Henderson in Marks, MS. Jeanette was employed by Lakeview General Hospital until closing, and then moved to work for Battle Creek Health Services for 23 years.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Ozzie and Ola Henderson; four brothers, R.C. Henderson, Willie "Bill" Henderson, Melvin Henderson, Henery Wright; four sisters, Essie Hodges, Irene Van, Molly "Louise" Holmes, Annette Harris; and her son, John Dawson.
Jeanette leaved to mourn her children, Shirley McNair, Susie Simmons both of Battle Creek, MI, Lennard (Marcia) Dawson of Denver, CO, Lemont (Valeria) Dawson of Coldwater, MI; two sisters-in-law, Ida Henderson of AR, Silvia Henderson of Battle Creek, MI; 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jeanette loved to bowl and was on many leagues throughout her life. She also enjoyed crochet, going shopping, walking and hanging out with family and friends.
Family hour will take place at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 470 North Washington Avenue, Battle Creek, MI on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 12:00 pm (noon) to 1:00 pm.
A celebration of life funeral service will also be held at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, starting at 1:00 pm with Rev. Leroy Smith officiating.
Interment will take place at Reese Cemetery in Springfield, MI.
