Obituary for Jeffrey Sparks

Pastor Jeffrey Michael (Mike) Sparks, 67, was called home to Heaven on Friday, November 19, 2021. He
was born in Plainwell, MI on September 22, 1952, the son of Roger and Mornie Sparks. Mike married the love of his life, Victoria (Pancoft), on September 14, 1974. They shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, in which he told her every day that he would shout from the rooftops how much he loved her (and actually did a couple of times)!

Pastor Sparks’ biggest passion in life was serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He answered the call
of God on his life at the age of 24 when he preached his first sermon. His ministry reached out to those
bound by addictions by giving them hope and encouraging them to turn to a loving God. He was known
for his bold, yet compassionate preaching, and his powerful evangelistic and prophetic anointing. He
was the Founder and Pastor of Resurrection Power Ministries in Battle Creek, MI and spread the gospel
throughout 40 states in America as well as in Haiti, Honduras, Nigeria, and Jamaica. Mike’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He loved spending time with them, spoiling them, and making them laugh.

He is survived by daughters, Michelle (Norman) Johnson, Kristy (Karl) Downer; grandchildren, Michael (Danielle) Johnson, Zachary (Mindy) Johnson, Morgyn (Deven) Case, and Jayda, Tamira, and Mikaya Downer; great grandchildren, Dalton, Brantley, Blayke and Colton; siblings, Kenny Sparks, Deb (Don) Bash, Patty Hatfield, and Randy (Katrina) Sparks; Godmother, Arlean Levitt; Dear Friends , Nancy Johnson, Robby Caraway, and Adam Berryhill; his beloved church family-the congregation of Resurrection Power Ministries; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many friends and loved ones to count.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Roger and Mornie Sparks; daughter, Dawn Sparks; son,
Anthony (Tony) Sparks; and sisters, Shari Fitzpatrick and Cathy Richardson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Services in Battle Creek, MI on Saturday, November 27, 2021, with a fellowship hour at 1pm and a Homegoing service immediately following at 2pm.

The family requests that attendees practice social distancing and wear a mask to the services.
