Jerry Miller, 60 of Battle Creek, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born on April 24, 1962, in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Richard Lee Miller and Luz Estrella (Rivera) Miller.
He attended Lakeview High School and graduated in 1980. He enlisted in the Marines in August of 1984 and proudly served his country for 4 years. After his military service, Jerry was employed as a Lead Salesman with the Pepsi Company where he received numerous awards, including “Salesman of the Year”. He later went into business for himself as a Master Stone and Tile Setter which allowed him to create beautiful custom designs in homes throughout Battle Creek and surrounding areas.
Jerry is survived by his parents; his sons Jason (Aubrey) Miller and Justin (Sallie) Miller; sisters Margie (Mike) Crittenden and Anna Miller; grandsons Jayden, Nathan, and Chase all of Battle Creek; nieces Jessica Poxson and Stephanie Randall; nephews Nick (Kacee) Poxson and Tyler Moore.
Jerry appreciated spending time with family and friends and always had a smile for anyone. He never met a stranger. He was especially proud of his sons and grandsons and never shied away from sharing stories and pictures of them to everyone.
At a young age, Jerry was fond of fast cars and loud motorcycles. One of his favorite pastimes was taking his prized motorcycle out for a long ride with his friends. He also enjoyed dirt bike racing with his sons, watching car restoration programs, participating in car shows, and collecting model cars.
Some of his favorite outdoor activities included target shooting, camping, fishing, swimming, and water skiing. He spent many summers with his sons on his boat at Goguac Lake, his second home all summer long. He enjoyed a variety of sports including wrestling and baseball which he also participated in and coached.
Jerry’s family and friends will always remember him as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle.
Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Albion. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Sunday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the large pavilion at Willard Beach (Goguac Lake).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel2Towers Foundation; in honor of Jerry’s military service.
