Joan M. Gates, age 58, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Evergreen Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 24, 1956 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Sharon Eberhart. She worked for A&B Janitorial until she became disabled in 2010. Joan loved eagles, reading books, playing bingo, going to the casino, family gatherings and her cats and dogs.
She is survived by her mother, Sharon Eberhart; her three daughters, Sharon (Monica) Gates, Jeanette (Eric) Feltner & Amanda (Jaime) Pereda; four grandsons, Christopher, Justin, Joshua & Timy & Uncle Jerry (Sue) Lentz. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tonia Michelle; her stepfather, Don Eberhart; her grandfather, Orbin A. Lentz & Grandmother Virgil (Albert) Strowbridge.
Joan’s memorial will take place Friday, June 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service 375 W. Dickman Road Battle Creek, Michigan 49037, with Pastor Jim Sirks from North Avenue Church of God officiating.
