John Richard Copeland, 60, of Tekonsha, MI, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born August 14, 1950 the son of John Henry Copeland and Ruth Lila (AcMoody) Copeland.
John was a 1968 graduate of Tekonsha High School and attended KCC. He worked with Charlie Anderson in Bronson, MI in agriculture and later business management in N. Carolina.
John is survived by Wife of 36 years: Leslie (Bradshaw) Copeland of Tekonsha, MI; Sister: Kathryn (Eastman) McFadden of Tekonsha, MI; Brother: Larry (Marilyn) Copeland of Pierceton, IN; Sister-in-law: Judith (Harvey) Earl of St. Joseph, MO, Karen (Lyman) Pierson of Antlers, OK and Merri (Roger) Hall of Hudsonville, MI; Brother-in-law: Clinton (Christina) Bradshaw of Battle Creek, MI; Adopted Children: Bill & Janie Coble of Greensboro, NC and Michael & Jennifer Spencer of Wilkesboro, NC; Adopted Grandchildren: Stephen, Genna, Noah and Jacob; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Parents.
John and Leslie enjoyed driving around and taking scenic photographs and watching old movies. He was a teacher and preacher of the Word of God. He was past president of the Quincy, MI Jaycees and served at the national level for one year.
A memorial service will be held at the Girard United Methodist Church, 990 Marshall Road, Coldwater, MI, Tuesday, May 10, 2011at 11 AM with Pastor Emily Beachy officiating.
