John Martin, 64, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born February 10, 1957 in Sandusky, OH to the late Estil and Marion Martin.

John retired in 1995 after 22 years and 11 months of service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He continued public service after his military career later retiring from Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center. He served his fellow veterans in various roles at the American Legion Post #465. He was known for his sense of humor and making his friends and family feel uniquely appreciated. He could command a room but was a teddy bear at heart. He was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

John is survived by his children; Dewayne (Melony) Sibert, Samantha (Mark) Watanabe, Kathryn (Joe) Messer, Melissa (Kelly) Durham, Victoria (Trevor) Baye; 15 grandchildren; siblings Deb, Ronnie, Bryan and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Mike.

At the family's request, cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery beginning at 3pm on June 7th, 2021.

A celebration of life will take place at 5pm on Monday, June 7th at American Legion Post #465 located at 6101 S. 44th St., Climax, MI 49034
