Obituary for John Newton

John Guy Newton, 66, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away Sunday December 23, 2018 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, Michigan, surrounded by his family.
John was born October 13, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Richard and Norma Jean (Roush) Newton. He graduated from Parchment High School in Parchment, Michigan. John was a truck driver in his younger years. In 1990 he moved to Maui, Hawaii and became a foreman for a local telephone company. John returned to Michigan in 1996 to be closer to family. He enjoyed boating, camping, car shows, fishing, traveling, and watching sports.
John is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer (Jeremy) McCollum of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Jessica (Jeff) McBurnett of Northfield, Minnesota, Jeanna (Casey) Randall of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Grace, Lauren, and Meredith McCollum, Nolan and Parker McBurnett, and Alexis and Brady Randall. He is also survived by stepdaughters, Leslie (Matt) Kwiatkowski of Hudsonville, Michigan, Carla (Tyrone) Richardson of Moore, Oklahoma, Sarah Walsh of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; stepson-in-law BC Cleveland of Matthews, North Carolina, and step grandchildren; Alaina, Olivia, and Evelyn Kwiatkowski, Corey and Cavan Rice, Ridley Richardson, Jacob Shuster, and Colin Kerr; in addition to many other beloved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard Newton Jr. (1995) and Jeff Newton (1996), granddaughter, Alexandria McBurnett (2009), and stepdaughter, Kim Cleveland (2018).
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
