Obituary for John W Taylor Sr.

John W Taylor Sr.
John W. Taylor Sr., 80, of Marshall, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family . He was born on January 13, 1937, the son of John Franklin Taylor and Elizabeth Madeline Dohig.
John attended Chadsey High School in Detroit. He worked for Grow Group as a dock worker for 27 years before his retirement in 1999. He would come to the Marshall area often to work on his street rods and moved closer to the area after retirement. He belonged to AA and Alcoholics for Christ as well as the Cereal City Street Rod Association.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years - Elizabeth Sandra (Leach) Taylor; two sons, John Taylor, Jr., and David (Donna) Taylor; two daughters, Elizabeth (Matthew) Nowak, and Debra (Lyndon) Parrish; 9 grandchildren, Christine, Douglas, Jacob, Jared, Zachary, Aaron, Cody, Rachel, and Gabraelle; 3 great-grandchildren, Sam, Riley, and Carter; his brother, Russell Fisher and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
John enjoyed bowling, working on cars, camping, and traveling. He loved to dance; he was very good and he didn't care if he danced alone or with a partner, he was moving anyways. He had a passion for cars and street rods and he enjoyed spending time fixing cars up and spending time with his friends from that. He loved his family dearly and he will be missed by all those he leaves behind.
