Obituary for Judith G. Eyre

On November 19, 2020, Judy Eyre got her wings and went to walk with the angels in Heaven. She was 79 years old. Judy was born on March 24, 1941 in Evansville, Indiana. The daughter of the late William Alfred Wright and Sarah Lois Bailey, Judy spent most of her life in Burlington. Judy worked for 30 years at Eaton’s and had a successful 12 year career with Reece Realty.

Judy embodied all the qualities you would suspect be present in someone whose greatest and purest love was always family. She was resilient, smart, and kind. Judy’s contagious laugh was the highlight of every holiday and family gathering. Her infamous stories were a source of joy for those blessed to have had Judy in their lives for years or even a few minutes. Judy enjoyed working on stain glass projects and woodworking, but her greatest talent may have been the way Judy could make anyone feel like the most important and special person in the room.

Judy is survived by her siblings, Carolyn (John) Goerlach, Debra Wright, Stephan Wright; children Rick (Debra) Knight, Duane (Kim) Knight, Chris (Jeffrey) Higdon, Gary (Carrie) Knight; stepchildren, Debra (Larry) McCann, Denice (Travis) Eyre, Tanya (Michael) Mathews, Norma (Paul) Deal; grandchildren, Brandon (Denise) Knight, Keith (Kate) Knight, Serena Knight (Travis Zeiter), Jeffrey (Danielle) Higdon, Jared (Alex) Knight, Katie Knight, Kayla (Chance) Terry, Kelsey (Kyle Baroquillo) Knight, Sarah Higdon, Gabe Rhodes, Isaac (Amaya) Rhodes and great-grandchildren, Emilynn Brown, Paityn Knight, Gaige Burns, Kyland Knight, Caliber Knight. She is preceded in death by husbands, Gordon Lee Knight and Norm Wayne Eyre.

Visitation was held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday, November 21, 2020. A graveside service followed at the Newton Township Cemetery, 8806 F Drive South.
