Obituary for Julia Ann Miller (Kidney)

Print
Julia “Judy” Ann Miller, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born May 5, 1944, to the late Roy Quinten Kidney and Vergie (Hardesty) Kidney.

Judy married Robert (Bob) W. Miller November 5, 1960, and together they started to build their close-knit family. In addition to raising her children, Judy worked in the Marking Room at Meijer, retiring in 2004. Judy also helped with the billing and finances of her husband’s commercial painting business, Miller’s Quality Painting, for 10+ years.

Judy’s passion was her family. First and foremost was the close bond she shared with her husband, Bob. As her children married, each new member was taken into Judy’s heart unconditionally. Every grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she was likewise very special to each of them. She enjoyed several visits with her sister Alice (Suzie) in Tennessee and getting together with her local brothers and sisters. Holidays were a special time with good food and amazing fun, and Judy especially enjoyed family picnics and games. Judy also enjoyed reading and playing computer games.

Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert W. Miller; Four sons Eric (Wendi) Miller, Kevin (Susan) Miller, Kurt (Theresa) Miller, Brant (Tracy) Miller; One daughter Cynthia (Paul) Marshall; Three brothers Roy W. (Delores) Kidney, Lewis R. (Christine) Kidney, William D. (Dayle) Kidney; Two sisters Alice B. (Kenneth) Burdette, Sally (Lester) Packham. Judy was grandma and “Nana” to 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father, Roy Quinten Kidney; Mother, Vergie Kidney; Grandson Michael Brant “Big Mike” Miller; Brother, Jeffrey Lynn Kidney; Sisters, Mary Elizabeth Dilling and Katherine Lee Burchard.

Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday September 6, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
