Obituary for Justin Victor Gieske

Justin Victor Gieske, 37, died of an overdose on March 6, 2021. Justin had battled addiction for 20 years and finally lost any battle left in him. He did not plan on leaving this world so soon even though his lifestyle was dangerous.
Justin found and embraced God and our Lord Jesus Christ in the last several months and will be welcomed into Heaven by many friends and animals.
Justin was born April 7, 1983 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was loud and his smile and laugh could encourage anyone, and really lit up a room. He graduated in 2001 from Harper Creek and Delton Community Schools. He also attended Kellogg Community College and was a graduate of MIHAS, a massage therapy school.
Justin leaves behind his loving parents, Victor and Jessica Gieske, a beloved brother, Joshua Gieske, and his niece, Alexandra. He is also survived by his grandparents, Robert and Lorry Burrell and their son Aaron. Most of all he leaves his most treasured and precious gift, his son, Gavin Robert Gieske. Justin always dreamed of better days with his son. He dreamed of being a millionaire, a dog breeder, a rapper…he always dreamed. He also leaves behind his beloved Myers family, Mike and Shea Flores, Nick Freeland, lifelong friends the Stevensons, particularly his friend Ryan. Justin was friendly to a fault and never left the house without saying I love you. He knew and regretted mistakes he had made, and truly planned on being sober, but could no longer battle the demons.
Please Jesus wipe away his pain and welcome him to the kingdom of Heaven, where we will all see him soon.
Cremation is scheduled and family and friends will be asked to the Gieske home this summer for a celebration of Justin’s life. Justin’s family asks that any donations may be made to the Humane Society.
Please open your hearts to the homeless, the mentally ill and those suffering with addiction. Justin Victor Gieske will be truly missed, forever 37 and forever in our hearts.
