Obituary for Kelley Jerome Blythe

Kelley Jerome Blythe, 45, of Kalamazoo, passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday morning April 6, 2021 in his home. He was born on April 29, 1975 to Rosetta (Blythe) Smithson and Daniel Smithson in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Kelley attended Battle Creek Public school and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. He worked at Goodwill and Kalamazoo Gospel Missions for the past several years. Kelley's love and loyalty for his family and friends was unmatched. His love and kindness were most displayed as a devoted Father and Grandfather. We rest assured knowing he loved the Lord and is forever at peace.

Kelley will be remembered for his big infectious smile, which would light up a room, his boisterous laugh, and his impeccable swag. He was one of the most charismatic, and genuine person you would ever come to know. He was the life of the party and the cornerstone in ensuring all the young family members knew each other and were close. Kelley was the funniest guy around and enjoyed listening to music, his favorite artist was Tupac Shukar. He loved to fish, dance, bowl, and travel.

Kelley was preceded in death by his Mother, Rosie, Son, Khari Davis and Aunts, Shelia A. Walls and Elonda M. Richards. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving Daughters, Trayona, Tajhinaye and Kelley, Grandson, Da'Tajh, Newborn Granddaughter, Arieah, Sister, Christina "Krissy" Elyne (Joseph) Blythe, Aunt, Faith Mindingall, Uncle, Jerry Richards, Grandmother, Christina Richards, and a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins, Special Daughters, Laryc Lee and Demetria White, Special Brother, Michael Mindingall, Special Cousins, Michael Glass and Antonio Sebastian, Incredibly Special Life Partner, Rochelle Patton and Special Friend, Jessica Habelitz.

Services were held on Friday, April 16 at the Jericho Temple Church in Battle Creek.
