Kevin Dirk Keene-Kennedy, 66, of Battle Creek, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at The Laurels of Bedford.
Dirk was born April 3, 1953, at Battle Creek Community Hospital, the son of Terence Noel and Eleanor Ruth (Kenyon) Keene-Kennedy. Dirk was a 1971 graduate of Lakeview High School. He attended Kellogg Community College.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dirk was in his element when he was outdoors enjoying nature. He also had an artistic side and enjoyed painting. As a young boy, Dirk was an acolyte at the Church of the Resurrection. He was also active in Demolay for many years. Dirk’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela Marie (Keene-Kennedy) Pedersen and Sarah Beth (Keene-Kennedy) Russell; his mother, Eleanor Ruth (Kenyon) Keene-Kennedy; three sisters, Deirdre (James) Horton, Tara (Duane) Gunn, Erin (Kevin) Katsarelas; a brother, Terence Lance Keene-Kennedy; four grandchildren, Anthony and Isaiah Pedersen, and Brooklynn nd Abigail Taylor; and step-grandchildren, Ethan and Katlyn Pedersen, and Evelyn Russell.
In accordance with Dirk’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A small family gathering was held to celebrate and honor Dirk’s life.
Arrangements entrusted to Baxter Funeral and Cremation Services.
