Obituary for Kevin Edward Smith
Kevin Edward Smith, 63, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord from natural causes on Tuesday, September 4, 2019 at home. He was born on May 3, 1956, the son of James Otto Smith and Arlene Marie (Slack) Robbins.
Kevin retired from Summit Pointe after 30+ years of service. He loved working with his client's day in and day out. He was also the director of Access to Bluegrass for 11 years.
Kevin is survived by his Wife, Valetta Mae (Davenport) Smith; Daughter, Taronda Smith; Five Sons, Keith (Jessica) Smith, Jerry (Stephanie) Lawson Jr., Daniel Lawson, Dustin Lawson, Norm MacPherson; Siblings, Ronda, Randy, Rob, 9 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren and his Beloved Dogs, Sara, Max, Forest. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Step-Father, Robert Robbins, and his Grandparents.
Kevin loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, having bonfire get together's, tinkering in the garage, wheelin'-n- dealin' and woodworking. He also enjoyed helping people whenever they needed him. His main passion in life however was his family, especially his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Kevin will be held at the Hickory Corners Bible Church, 13720 Kellogg School Road, Hickory Corners, MI 49060, on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. A banquet dinner will be held after the service at the church, please bring a dish to pass.
Private family interment will take place at Newbre Cemetery.
