Leah Ellen Thomas died on August 1st, 2022 in Battle Creek,MIchigan at the age of 49,of a long illness.Leah was born in Battle Creek,Michigan on June 8th, 1973 to Dennis Wales and Linda Lee Reffruschinni. She grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan after graduating from Lakeview High School studied at Kellogg Community College, Wrights Beauty Academy, and online classes when she wasn't going through her health issues. Leah was very determined to keep going. Leah met her husband, Randy Thomas at Eagles Lodge where she was a waitress. After losing sight for a few years they met again and married on August 17th, 2002. Leah already had two boys Stephen ( Sarah ) Hanson and Earl ( Fawn ) Roberts but when they married the family grew with two more boys Chris and Brian ( Amber ) Thomas. Leah spent her time making crafts, such as diamond art, knitting, crocheting, needlework and running her small candle business. Leah is survived by 14 grandchildren and grandma, Arlene Hanson and her adopted father Steve Hanson and her sisters Tina, Regina of Lansing, Michigan and Kelly Hanson of Kalamazoo also her half sisters and brother Shawn Wales, Jennifer Cabral, and Jessica LaDue of New York, as well as many nephews and nieces . When she wasn't dealing with her illness she would spend her time gardening and spending time at the park with her local grand kids. Leah was always smiling even in the worst of moments. She saw many people at their last moments because while dealing with her illness she took care of others as well. Leah spent many hours in the hospitals taking care of others that would sometimes lead her to going to the hospital herself. In her last and final days she fought the hardest to stay alive for the ones she loves but her heart had beat the final beat. Leah was cremated at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service. Leah will be having a celebration of life on August 14th, 2022.
