Obituary for LeeAnne Woodard

LeeAnne Woodard
LeeAnne Woodard, 83, of Battle Creek, MI, formerly of Fremont, MI and Lansing, MI, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek.

LeeAnne was born on June 19, 1934 to George and Irene Woodard. She spent her early years in Detroit moving to Houghton Lake during high school. She graduated from there, then moved to Lansing to work at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. It was there that she met, Leo, her husband of 61 years.

LeeAnne was a homemaker who doted on her family but still found time to volunteer in her community. She was a Cub Scout den leader, a Girl Scout troop leader, a room mother, an involved PTA member, a Eucharist minister at a nursing home, a respite care volunteer, and a literacy volunteer.

LeeAnne loved to camp with her family and was an expert at packing everything a family of six needed for a camping trip, including tents, into a car. She also loved reading, playing cards, and watching soap operas; but most of all she loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

LeeAnne was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bob and George Woodward. She is survived by her husband, Leo; her four children; Mike (Janice) Woodard of Glendale, AZ; Terri (Randy) McDaniel of Portage, MI; Betsy (Doug) Willbur of Battle Creek, MI; and Tim (Wendy) Woodard of Houston, TX. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made out to: Susan G. Komen for the Cure or to the Alzheimer's Association.
Interment will take place in the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
