Obituary for Linda Kay Mc Tague

Linda  Kay   Mc Tague
Linda Kay McTague, 59, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. She was born on November 22, 1957, the daughter of David Alan McTague and Carolyn Rae (Crippen) McTague.
She attended LaMora Park Elementary School, Northwestern Junior High School, and graduated in 1975 from Battle Creek Central High School. She also graduated from Kellogg Community College with an Associate of Arts in 1977, and Florida International University in 1979 and 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees respectively. Throughout her high school, college, and military careers, she was an accomplished athlete and represented her country as a member of the Armed Forces Volleyball Team in the international competition in China in 1985. In 2009, she retired from the Air Force as a Brigadier General after serving over 28 years as both a pilot and aircraft maintenance officer. During her military career, she accumulated nearly 6,000 flight hours in military trainer and VIP transport aircraft, commanded at the squadron, group, and wing levels, and retired as the Commander of the District of Columbia Air National Guard. She was a graduate of Air War College and CAPSTONE. Her military decorations included the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service, and Air Medals.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, father and her brother, Mark Baker. Surviving are her two nephews, Travis Baker, Todd (Kristie) Baker; sister-in-law, Deborah Baker; cousin, Cindy Heath of Marshall, MI and cousins, Mike and Matt Tobias of FL.
Her hobbies included aviation, bicycling, and classic car collecting. Linda was very active with Talons Out Honor Flight as well as Ladies of Harley.
