Obituary for Lorraine E. Brownell

Lorraine was born on January 4th, 1946 to Albert and Edna Tauriainen in Detroit, MI. Lori lived a giving and service-filled life. Spending most of her youth in Iron Mountain, but also moving periodically to the Detroit area during her childhood. She was the 3rd child of 4. Lori worked as a bookkeeper and an accountant for most of her professional career. She met her Husband, Robert H. Brownell while living in a condo in Gibralter, MI. They soon married and had one son, Robert T. Lori and Robert eventually re-located to Marshall and Robert’s family farm where she stayed at home with her son, Robert while he was in school. Lori enjoyed being “Mom” to all of Rob’s friends, and hosting get togethers at the farm. Later in life, Lori went back to school to attain her associate’s degree from KCC and to work at Starr Commonwealth in their accounting department where she retired from in 2006.

Lori is survived by her son, Rob; daughter-in-law, Beth; and two grandchildren, Miriam and Thane. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert.

Services for Lori will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshall on December 19th at 1:00 PM. There will be a memorial service from 1:00 – 1:30 followed immediately by a reception to celebrate Lori’s life from 1:30 – 3:30 in Fellowship Hall at the church. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requested that donations be made either to the Brownell Family, or to the “Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force”.
