Obituary for Louise Ann Clevenger (Preston)
Louise A. Clevenger, 82, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Louise "Lou" was born on February 25, 1941 the daughter of Wilbur and Margaret Preston. Lou graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and married Steve Clevenger.
Lou worked at Kellogg's for over 30 years and was a part of the crew that welcomed work days to 8 hours rather than 6 hours, which helped many families by providing equal time and pay.
Lou loved her dogs and cats throughout the years, and had a good eye for sales and garage sales. Lou loved to have fun and find humor in life. She enjoyed playing cards and reading People Magazine. She said before her passing "don't wait to do the things you want to do."
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Margaret; husband, Steve Clevenger; daughter, Kathy Gilman, and sister, Sharon Griffith.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Meg (Dallas) Smith, Laurie (Steve) Coay; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm for friends and family to share "Sweet Lou" memories.
A private burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
