Obituary

Ludie Iladean Flowers, 86, of Bellevue, Michigan, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019. She was born on January 11, 1933, the daughter of William Norris and Susie (Barlow) Norris. She was the youngest of 5 children, growing up on a farm in rural Brilliant, Alabama. Her family was very resourceful; they farmed with no tractor, using traditional horsepower. Ludie was a great southern cook, who tried to pass along helpful eating tips to her family. She enjoyed quilting and passed that skill on to her family. She was a devoted mother, helping to raise grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ludie is survived by two daughters, Debbe Sue Ann Flowers and Kay Flowers; two sons, Jimmie Flowers and William Flowers; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James H. Flowers; son, Bural Flowers, sisters, Clytee Linley, Lily May Walker, Elvie Burleson, Beatrice Temple and brother, Elzie Norris.

A graveside Service will be held at the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1490 E. Michigan Avenue, on Thursday, November 14, 2019, 10:30 am, with the family receiving friends starting at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ludie's name may be made to the Calhoun County Animal Shelter.

I’m so sorry to hear about Ludie’s passing. I wasn’t aware until today. Ludie was a good roommate to my mom. Even though she was younger than mom, mom called her grandma. I think Ludie knew a lot about a lot of things. She always kept me informed. It didn’t matter if it was a news story, current events, people or food. We chatted about it all. She watched over my mom and kept me up to date on the things she thought I should know. Every time that I left after a visit she ask me if I was coming back tomorrow. And to be careful out there. She will be missed. I’m so sorry. Cindy Jones( Doris’s Daughter.)
