Obituary for Maisie Louise Taylor

Maisie Louise Taylor passed away peacefully in her parents arms on March 4, 2023. Maisie was born at Bronson in Battle Creek, Mich., on March 1, 2022, the daughter of Billy and Brooke (Burdette) Taylor.

Maisie touched and blessed everyone she met with her bright blue eyes, beautiful smile and laugh. She was definitely a force to be reckoned with, as she had a ferocious growl. Maisie was tiny but mighty, a very
confident, determined little girl. She loved cuddling Mom and Dad and enjoyed chasing and playing with her Bubba. She enjoyed being outside and hanging around family and friends. Although she was only on this Earth for one short year, she sure made her mark and was the brightest light that will be deeply missed.

It's difficult to understand why a benevolent God would let a baby die.
Surely one so helpless and pure
Was deserving of a cure.
Though we cannot know God's plan,
His love was still there to see.
When the suffering was at its height,
He told the baby, Dearest, come to me.
And now they live together in Heaven
Just waiting for the day
When everyone will be reunited
And all the sorrow will fall away.

Maisie is survived by father, Billy Taylor; mother, Brooke Burdette; big brother, Malakai (Bubba) Taylor; maternal grandfather, Tracy Burdette; maternal grandmother, Michaelle Jankowski; aunts, Linda, Lisa, Beth and Jaileigh; and all of the dear friends who have become family. Maisie was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Billy Sr. and Mary Taylor; maternal great-grandmother, Christine Mcleod; and uncles, Joshua Short and Jack Burdette.

The funeral service will take place at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church, 4790 Capital Ave., S.W., Battle Creek, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, with dinner to follow at the Polish National Alliance, 15 Clair St., Battle Creek.
