Obituary for Margaret Arlene Jenkins (Roof)

Margaret A. "Peggy" Jenkins, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022 in Battle Creek, MI. Peggy was born on September 11, 1926 to parents Fred and Fern (Rambow) Roof.

She graduated from Climax High School in 1944 and Western Michigan University in 1949. She was a dedicated wife and mother, talented musician and seamstress, and an active member of the community of Climax, including involvement in 4-H, church activities, and the Prairie Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lawrence Jenkins, Sr., her daughter, Connie, and her three sisters. She is survived by her brother, Fred Roof Jr. and her sons, Lawrence Jenkins, Jr. of Parchment, MI and Roger Jay (Patty) Jenkins of Galesburg, MI. She also leaves behind three granddaughters, Niki Morford, Kitty (Josh) Jager, and Jennifer Jenkins, as well as three step grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren: Jackson, Nicholas and Gracie Morford; Mattison, Dylan, Holley, Lexi, Miley and Blake Coburn; Jordan and Kyan Jager, along with four step great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Climax United Methodist Church, 133 E. Maple St., and Dr. Ralph Cates, Chaplain, will officiate.

Interment will be in Roof Cemetery and a luncheon and fellowship will follow cemetery services at the Climax United Methodist Church.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Heritage Assisted Living in Battle Creek, MI for their support.
