Obituary for Marietta Elizabeth West

Marietta  Elizabeth   West
Marietta Elizabeth (Titus) West, 86, of East Leroy, Michigan passed away after a courageous, short battle with cancer on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on April 14, 1931, the daughter of Daniel H. Titus and Thelma A. (Rounds) Titus.
She married Roy D. West Sr. in 1947, he preceded her in death in 2007. Marietta graduated from Springfield High School. She worked and retired after 38 years from Dare Products.
Marietta is survived by her Two Daughters, Sammy (Scott) Dorsey of East Leroy, MI, Deana M. Garrett; Two Sons, Luke (Patti) West Sr. of Bellevue, MI, Roy West Jr. of East Leroy, MI; 11 Grandchildren, Shawn Deprez, Norman and Ken Johnson, Jim, Luke Jr., John, Joseph, Dale, Jacob West, Ronald and James Garrett, Rachele Barker; 24 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchild and 4 step-grandchildren, Special Friend and Cousin, Faye Wickens and her Loyal Dog Companion, Muffin. She was preceded in death by her Sister, June Ashley and Brother, Daniel Titus.
Marietta loved bowling, she spent many nights with friends at the bowling alley. She enjoyed camping with her husband, and being by the lake. Marietta enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and crocheting. She made several blankets for her family. She also made hats that she gave to hospitals for newborns and cancer patients. Marietta was a kindhearted woman that would do anything to help other people. She especially loved being around her family and watching her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren grow over the years.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Bronson Kalamazoo Hospital for their exceptional care and to Dr. Nathan Mollberg for the love and compassion he showed Marietta while in his care.
