Obituary for Marilyn Margaret McCauley (Mularski)

Marilyn Margaret McCauley went home to the Lord on April 8, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on January 14, 1938. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter McCauley. She is also survived by her sons, David McCauley of Caledonia, Michigan, Michael (Kathy) McCauley of Maryville, Illinois, and daughter, Lorene (Steve) Frisbie of Battle Creek, Michigan. Also surviving is her sister, Patricia Burke of Las Vegas, Nevada, and sister/cousin, Christina (Gary) Abbott of Charlevoix, Michigan. She also leaves behind four grandchildren that she adored, Megan Bonfiglio, Lindsey Bonfiglio, Jared Frisbie and Daniel Frisbie.
The grandchildren write: "Our gram was our heart. There is no comparable love than what we received from her our entire lives. No one loved their grandchildren more than she did. She was generous, patient, hilarious and was always ready to have FUN. She would do anything to see us laugh and love each other. Time is so precious and she made every moment worth it. No one could hand pick a more amazing woman to lead us, sing to us, spoil us and welcome us with a big squeeze and a kiss. She is an irreplaceable force of light and love. We will all carry that extension of her in our hearts because she is a part of us."
Marilyn retired from Kellogg Community College in 1998, after 25 years of employment. After retirement, Marilyn and Walt enjoyed 22 winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Michigan summers and fall you would always find her on the lake, in her flower beds or feeding her fish in her pond. She was an avid U of M fan and attended many games. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity and wicked sense of humor.
She will be laid to rest at the Memorial Garden in Battle Creek, Michigan with a private family service. In the future, a Catholic Funeral Mass will be held for her at St. Philip's church.
Memorial donations can be made to Kellogg Community College where there is a scholarship in her name, or to your local casino. Smile!
