Obituary for Marlene Gay Dau (Ankrom)

Marlene Gay Dau, 73, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at her residence. She was born on April 9, 1948, the daughter of Virgil D. and Marvine F. (Yackley) Ankrom.

Marlene was on the MAHC board, active in the Kiwanis Club and Elk's Lodge. She founded Tailor Made Property Services in 2003, and currently operates in 3 different states.

Marlene is survived by her Son, Timothy Wayne (Denise) Kuker; Daughter, Shelley Marie (John) Evankovich; Four Grandchildren, John (Corie) Evankovich Jr., Justin Evankovich, Joshua Rogers, Kayla (Chase) Brainard; Great Grandchildren, Trenton, Kahrsen, Zoey and Carlos; Sister, Dee Gale Johnston; Brother, Rolley Dean Ankrom. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Virgil D. and Marvine F. Ankrom and Husband, Marvin Dau.

Marlene was a Master Gardener, there wasn't anything that she couldn't grow and make beautiful. She enjoyed walking her dog, traveling on National Geographic trips and crocheting blankets and hats for her grandchildren. Her main passion in life however was her family and her dog, Molly. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, making memories with them throughout the years.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Marlene will take place on July 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at her home.
