Mary Ellen Edrene Blount , 96, of Mc Leansville, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 18, 2022 at her daughters home. She was born on June 20, 1925, in Magnolia, MS, the daughter of Oliver Magee and Cora B. (Brumfield) Magee.
Mary was employed at the Post Community Credit Union until retiring. She was a member of Bethlehem Temple for over 45 years and had been Sunday School Superintendent, sang in the choir, active in the Missionary Auxiliary and Usher Board. When she moved to North Carolina with her daughter she attended Life Light Apostolic Church of Winston Salem, NC.
Mary is survived by her Daughter, Jeanette (Kenneth) Cook; Sons, James (Regan) Kirk, Nathaniel (Paula) Kirk and Tommie (Margaret) Kirk. God Daughters, Clasara Morris and Sheila Jenkins-Glover; 17 Grandchildren; 34 Great Grandchildren; Special Daughters, Candace Hemphill and Janet Dickerson-Caldwell and a host, a host of nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Daughter, Cynthia Blount; First Husband, James Oliver Kirk; Second Husband, Samuel E. Blount and Best Friend, Ella Stephenson.
Mary loved reading her Bible, going for rides, watching Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy and loved spending time with family and friends.
A family hour will be held at the Maranatha Original Church of God, 400 Waubascon Road on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 am with a funeral service 11:30 am with Pastor Michael S. Eubanks of Bethlehem Temple Church officiating.
Interment will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
