Obituary for Melody K. Sanford
Melody K. Sanford, 65, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Heritage Assisted Living. She was born on March 1, 1956, the daughter of Keith Sanford and Marion (Pomeroy) Sanford.
Melody is survived by her brother, Scott Sanford; three nephews, Scott Sanford II, Cody (Amy) Sanford, and Tory (Crystal) Sanford; three great nieces and nephews and special friends, Bill and Janet Lichty and Mary Reden. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
At Mel’s request; there will be no funeral; instead, we ask you to reflect on how she lived her life. She was a model for us all. Mel always remained caring, outgoing, and concerned for others. She always had a kind word and treated everyone with the same respect, no matter their station in life.
To celebrate Mel, a simple act of kindness would be the best way to remember her. Call a friend or relative, visit a shut-in or nursing home resident. Pay for a stranger’s meal or forgive someone. Pay it forward the way Mel would!
In accordance with Mel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Polish National Alliance Center, 15 Clare St. Battle Creek, Michigan.
