Obituary for Michael D. Quinn
Michael D. Quinn, 67, of Delton, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was born on May 22, 1954, the son of Bernard John Quinn and Lois Joann (Osborn) Quinn.
Michael was very energetic during his high school years; he solo piloted an airplane before he had his driver’s license. He also worked for Battle Creek Ambulance; at times they would pick him up at Lakeview High School to go on runs during the school day. Michael graduated from Lakeview High School in 1972 and earned a bachelor's degree in Applied Science in 2011. He served in the U. S. Army as an Operating Room Technician and the U.S. Air Force as a A-10 Jet Engine Mechanic.
Michael is survived by his wife of 30 years, Valerie (Collins) Quinn of Delton, Michigan; daughters, Andrea (Casey) Guehl, Crystal (David) McCormick of Battle Creek, Michigan, Michelle (Conner) Bays of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Audrey (Ryan) Andrews of Dowling, Michigan, Bethany (Drew) Fernandes of Bozeman, Montana, and Andrea (Brett) Merritt of Oakwood, Georgia; son, John Quinn of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Madison, Rylee, Justin Andrews, Elise McCormick, Brant McCormack, Allison Guehl, Liam Quinn, Harper Quinn, Oliver Fernandes, Greyson Bays, Uriah Merritt, and Judah Merritt; great granddaughter, Charlotte Larabee; brother, Tim (Connie) Quinn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard John Quinn; brother, Patrick Quinn; maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and several family pets.
Michael was a founding member of the Springfield Bullets Football Club and enjoyed watching nitro funny car races.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will take place at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 West Dickman Road, on Monday July 19, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made to St. Jude’s.
