Michelle wanted to be involved in my three daughters' lives. This was hard to do because we always lived far away from her. One time, my middle and youngest daughters stayed with their Aunt Michelle and Greg for a week; and Michelle wanted to teach my middle daughter, Amanda, to drive. Amanda drove while Michelle was sitting in the front passenger seat providing guidance as Vickie sat in the back. Everything was going smoothly and toward the end of the drive, Michelle told Amanda to pull over to the shoulder so Michelle can take over. Amanda slowly drove to the shoulder and then continued driving into a ditch. Nothing was said, just all heads were tilted at a 45 degree angle. Michelle then said frankly and without emotion, " You drove us into a ditch." Everybody then started laughing while Amanda kept exclaiming "I thought this was the shoulder!" Eventually, Michelle had to crawl to the driver's seat so she could drive the car out of the ditch. On the ride home, Michelle said, "Don't tell Greg about this."
