Obituary for Monica Kay Dixon

Monica Kay Dixon, 52, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on January 16, 1967, the daughter of Peter Dixon and Ruth Ann (McNichols) Dixon-Gray.
Monica graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. She was a member of the Maranatha Original Church of God. She worked many years at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek as a Nurse's Assistant.
Monica is survived by her Mother, Ruth Ann (Bobby) Dixon-Gray; Two Brothers, James (Kari) Gray, Ernie Gray; Sister, Renee Gray, Aunts, Janice McNichols (TeeTee), Verba McNichols and Uncle, Marlin (Joyce) McNichols.
Extended Family: Children, DeQuan Moore, Jazzy Moore, Martez Harris, Corey Harris; Granddaughter, Zy'Ana Smith, Sister, Portia Rogers, Two God-Sisters, Bridgett Banks, Kyra McGilbray; Aunts, Betty Moorehead, Rhonda White, Barbara Coy, Brenda Moss, Anne McGilbray and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Peter Dixon, Sister, Shaloam Rozella Polk, Maternal Grandparents, Samuel and Dodie McNichols and Paternal Grandparents, Roy and Betty Hall.
Monica loved to read as many books as she could. She also enjoyed cooking, and helping anyone that she could. Her family remembers her as being sweet, outgoing and always had a smile on her face. She will truly be missed by her family, and all those that knew and loved her.
Family Hour will be held at the Maranatha Original Church of God on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, with the Funeral Service starting at 12:00 pm with Pastor Geraldine Richardson officiating.
Interment will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Pink Ribbon Sisterhood Breast Cancer Survivors Organization of Battle Creek.
